Baba Z. A. Odeleye was a great mentor, charismatic leader and gave all necessary assistance and supports to younger ESVs especially those aspiring elections into the corporate membership (ANIVS) and registration at the Institution and the Board respectively. He was like a father to most of us the young surveyors (regardless of being his staff or not)in the Pacesetter Branch (OYO NIESV), any professional issues/challenges discussed with him were simplified for us.
He really contributed greatly to human capacity and professional development of every member and our noble profession at the Branches, Faculty and National level as well as in the Board.
We had loss a rare gem and doyen in Estate Surveying and Valuation Profession.
I pray that Jehovah God shall accept his soul, forgives his transgressions, grant him eternal and peaceful rest at the best place in the Paradise as his final abode.

Elder Biodun Odeleye, a colosus in the midst of giants, an amiable personify who is not want for frivolities but for realities. You have gone so soon. If we say we have missed your brilliance, that would be an understatement. Your wisdom, eloquence and rendition of the queens language is a beauty to behold and we can't forget that so soon. If not for anything, I owe you this little bit for your sense of communication, native intelligence and the way you calm down fseemingly intractable challenges in a way that melts all problems away. Your native intelligence is second to none, though, at times we confuse it to mean conpromise or condesending. The last time we spoke was after the NIESV AGM and more than ever before I was convinced that your solution to the immperse was an excellent one. Your drive and commitment as a surveyor is worthy of emulation. Despite your health challenges, you died in active service for your institution, nay your colleagues.

OKUNLOLA AFEEZ OLAIDE posted on 06-08-2020So pathetic! What a great loss to NIESV OSUN STATE BRANCH. When I heard about the sad news of the departure of ESV (ELDER) BIODUN ODELEYE, I began to ask myself some questions. What is the measure of a man? Is it the amount of money he has? The possessions he owns and the power he holds? Is it the professional success he’s achieved over the years?
I don’t believe it is any of these things. The true measure of a man is how much love he gives; how selflessly he shares whatever he can to help others; how consistently he lifts up those around him with a kind word, a funny joke, a compliment, a humble ear or the very shoes off his feet.
By this measure, ESV BIODUN ODELEYE was immeasurable.
An erudite result oriented ESV has finally gone. Rather gratitude to Almighty God for the exemplary enviable life he enabled him to demonstrate maritally, socially, professionally and spiritually to admiration of many where he had worked, lived, practiced and worshipped. To God be the glory for this outstanding feat.
May the Lord grant the Family and the Institution the fortitude to bear the gigantic vacuum created by the Home Call of our own Elder Biodun Odeleye. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

We have since maintained a father and daughter relationship in the practice of Estate Management. You taught me excellence and structure in practice and office administration. I felt achieved when you printed for me even as an IT student my first set of complimentary cards to work with. You showed me early the importance of accounting in Real Estate Practice.
We had our last communication on the 21st June when I said Happy Father's day and you replied with a prayer.
You are a statement in the Spirit that the Lord Jesus should teach us all to number our days that we may all apply our hearts to wisdom
Rest in Peace Baba Odeleye. You remain my heart always. Thank you for giving to this generation. It was to God you gave. Adieu to a great ESV , Father , Friend and Teacher. You will surely be missed by many.

I noticed him first during Oyo State Rating Exercise in 1995 trying to calm down field workers and assured them of good returns. My own father later introduced me to him as an estate surveyor in the making. He had since encouraged me and here I am a fellow of the Institution. Thanks so much. We all in the profession will miss you. Rest on sir in the blossom of God.
