The Press Conference, led by our distinguished President and Chairman of Council, ESV Victor Alonge, PNIVS, FRICS, FCIoD, drew a wide array of media representatives, reporters, and stakeholders, engaging with critical questions on the role of valuation in national development.
Theme: "Tax Reform for National Economic Prosperity: Why Valuation Matters"
The President, in his address, emphasized the irreplaceable role of valuation in tax reform, public procurement, asset management, insurance, and fiscal policy.
He highlighted that no economic blueprint can succeed without credible, accurate, and professional valuation, and reiterated that only Estate Surveyors and Valuers empowered by law and professional training are legally and professionally authorized to carry out valuation in Nigeria.
According to ESV Alonge, "Valuation is not just a service - it is the backbone of sustainable economic reform." He stressed that as the Federal Government pushes ahead with critical tax reforms, the valuation profession must be recognized and engaged as a strategic partner in the journey toward economic recovery and financial stability.
International Valuation Day, celebrated annually is NIESV’s signature advocacy platform to create awareness about the significance of valuation, assert the legal and professional jurisdiction of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, and engage stakeholders in public and private sectors on its vital economic implications.
